“Ready for adventurous travel and intrepid treks? The world is at your feet with our classic Interloper gridTECH Backpack. It’s made with tough, durable fabric and offers a spacious 70 litres to fit all the gear you’ll need. The innovative harness fits ergonomically and adjusts easily to give you essential comfort over long distances. The Interloper comes with a detachable daypack providing you with an extra 18 litres”. = Kathmandu.

POSITIVES

This pack has done well Hiking-the-alps-2-ocean-cycletrail in New Zealand and How-we-hiked-the-Lycian-Way , Turkey. I have hiked a total of 800 kms with the Kathmandu Interloper gridTECH 70 L pack. To date it is not showing any signs of wear and tear or damage.

There are multiple adjustments in the shoulder straps to customize the fit to the load and the person.

Includes a small 18 litre day pack that can be clipped to the back of the main pack. Or clipped to the front of the shoulder straps. Which helps to balance the weight forward and back.

CONS

The Kathmandu Interloper gridTECH 70 L pack is more aimed at the traveller / back packer rather than the serious hiker. The large back opening makes for easy access. However, the zip closure creates a waterproofing issue.

The addition of some small outer pouches would increase packing options. The position of the zip on the top pouch is ok for access when the pack is upright.

However, access is difficult when the pack is lying down. When packing or unpacking there are many clips, zips and a draw cord to manage.
